26 09 2011

Hamann’s brand new Murcielago boasts brand new visual and aerodynamic enhancements. The package brings 20-inch black rims, a front spoiler and a rear wing available in Carbon-Kevlar or fiberglass, a two-part rear diffuser with additional air hoses for the extendable side air intakes, side sills and a central running air box on the roof that reminds us of the Lamborghini Diablo GT-R.

All these enhancements have been painted orange orange to contrast with the black bodywork of the car, clearly a great ride to both look upon and drive.

$400,000 Lamborghini Gallardo Blows Up (9.25.11)

25 09 2011

Blown Up Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo shown burst into flames near Bukit Damansara, Indonesia at 11:50am 9.23.11.

The owner, who remains unnamed managed to escape without any problems. As for the Lamborghini, it was not as lucky. The mint condition Gallardo blew up, leaving it in very downside condition. It’s value, of course, is worth over $400,000, not something great to lose.

The owner told he was warming up near Jalan Beringin when he noticed clouds of smoke coming out from the bonnet of the car.

“I was driving up a slope at Jalan Beringin when I noticed smoke coming out from the engine bay.

“I stopped the car and got off and then it suddenly burst into flames,” the owner said, adding that he has had possession of the super car for three years and was extremely heartbroken to see it go in flames. The owner believed a fuel leak could have caused the wreck.

Pricing begins at $196,995, with the $2,995 destination charge and the $2,100 gas guzzler tax. Both the Valentino Balboni and Bicolore Edition Gallardo’s are special order only, hence I said limited edition.

The the six-speed manual, and this version will cost you $207,995, including destination charge and gas guzzler tax. If you want the E-Gear option, the price starts at $217,095, a $10,000 jump.

As for the E-Gear paddle-shifted version will cost you $242,695, inclusive, which is $900 less than the manual gearbox.

The Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is a topless version of the Gallardo Superleggera, and it’s priced from $254,695 for the manual transmission, or $253,095 for the E-Gear transmission.

Finally, we can’t forget the only one version of the 700 horsepower, all-wheel-drive, seven-speed E-Gear equipped Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. The price although, including destination charge and gas guzzler tax, is $393,695, not such a bad price for the car.

Lamborghini Invading China, Winkelmann Says (9.21.11)

21 09 2011

Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said in a new interview Wednesday (9.14.11) that the exotic car company expects to see sales equaling its sales in 2008 by early 2013 (this is a good thing), he says. Sales have dropped from 2,430 in 2008 to 1,013 in 2010. In help to regain it’s work, Lamborghini will be concentrating on China’s economy.

“China is likely to be our biggest market this year, depending on sales in the next few months in our current top market, the United States.”

“However, equal sales in the two countries this year, adding in the faster growth in China, will make the nation our number 1 market definitely next year, easily,” Winkelmann said.

Within the first eight months of , Lamborghini sold close to 200 of its cars in China, equal to the total for last year, when sales skyrocketed 150 percent year-on-year. Clearly a bright sign for Lamborghini.

“The sales rise of the past five years for Lamborghini far exceeded the company’s expectations,” Winkelmann said.

Winklemann also said that by the end of 2011 Lamborghini plans to have 20 dealers across China. The company will continue its invasion in China and increase investment in marketing and services next year.

Overall, seeing that China’s market is expanding so well, I do see a bright future for Lamborghini in China’s fast, growing economy.

Oh, and by the way, that Lambo is the brand new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, if you were wondering.

Lamborghini Confirms 20 Lamborghini Sesto Elementos (9.19.11)

19 09 2011

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

“The excellent feedback and the numerous requests we’ve had from our customers have really convinced us to embark on the challenge of producing a vehicle with unique characteristics. We are proud that what a year ago was just a ‘technology demonstrator’ of future super sports cars, even though in working order, will become a small series reality. Only 20 units of the new Sesto Elemento super sports car will be produced, and will be destined only for track use. We’re planning to deliver the first cars at the beginning of 2013,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s CEO, in Frankfurt.

The Sesto Elemento has been in the rumor mill for quite a while. Like Stephan mentioned above, it will be limited to 20 models — for street use only. It is much faster than the brand new Aventador, which can go 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, in comparison to the Sesto Elemento which can do 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and is probably a lot more expensive as well, though there’s no word on pricing yet.

UPDATE: Stephan Winklemann has said in an interview that the starting price of the new Sesto Elemento will start at $2 million (€1.6 million), according to Washington Post (link will open in new page.)

Lamborghini Aventador Miniature Model Debut (9.18.11)

18 09 2011

Today’s picture…

Lamborghini Aventador Miniature Model

The brand new Lamborghini Aventador miniature  features a busting >1 horsepower. The model has a starting price of $4.83 million, approximately 12 times more than the price of the classic Aventador.

The model itself is made of gold, carbon fiber, platinum, bulletproof glass (why bulletproof?) and precious gems. A 1/1000mm thin thread of solid gold is wrapped around the carbon fibres that form the body of the car, nothing to mess with.

“This is a high-tech work of art,” Gulpen said. “I wanted to do something unique, something that has not existed until now.”

The materials used for building this model cost $2 million and Mr. Gulpen worked around 500 hours to complete it.

Mr. Gulpen will be auctioning it in Southeby’s or Chrystie’s in December, in the case you want it NOW, you can buy it for set price of $6.2 million.

The model will be put on sale in auctions organized by Sotherby’s or Chrystie’s in New York or Dubai with a starting price of $4.83 million. Gladly, a minimum of $690,000 will be donated to charity.
